|
|
by Justin Arrow, Grade 9
Last night I interviewed a Veterinarian. His name is Bill. He said he takes care of the musher's dogs during the Iditarod. He lives in North Carolina. The Iditarod Trail Committee had to interview him to see if he was a very good verterinarian, and then they picked him. He said he works 24 hours a day when the race is coming through. He also said a musher can't leave without signing a book. He even said if a dog is sick the veterinarians will pick them up and try to make them better for the race. If they are really sick the musher just leaves the dog there at the checkpoint and will move on, and the veterinarian will take care of the dog until the plane gets here to pick the dog up. Thank you, Bill, for the interview! After the teams come in we'll get more pictures of the Veterinarians in action! I also interviewed another Veterinarian, Dirsko Von Rfeil. He said he worked at the Michigan State University for 5-years. He is originally from Stuttgart, Germany. His job is a Surgeon. he repairs the dogt's bones if the are broken. He went to Rome to work as a Veterinarian. He was working there for 5 days. Welcome to Shageluk, Dirsko! |
